BOATHOUSE
MAX WALEWSKI
Constructed from readily available metal structures typically utilized for boat storage, this house reinterprets infrastructural typologies. Ascending 12 feet from the ground, the understory introduces a unique spatial condition within the community, bridging the divide between domestic privacy and communal engagement. Modular infill strategies delineate the enclosure of daytime and nighttime spaces on the inhabited level, fostering interplay between interior and exterior realms. Through this approach, the house not only redefines traditional notions of residential architecture but also cultivates a symbiotic relationship with its surrounding environment.
