RAINHARVEST HOUSE

STELLA SHAO
AILED TORRES ESPINOSA

With the encroaching rise in sea levels imperiling Florida's aquifers, this project innovatively features a platform housing a single-family dwelling that concurrently serves as a communal water collection infrastructure. Characterized by a series of autonomous volumes devoid of conventional corridors, the platform fosters unconventional spatial conditions through greater integration between outdoor and indoor spaces. Through the strategic utilization of rainwater and greywater collection, the system provides both household water needs and potable water for the community, transitioning into an industrial-scale water collection apparatus over time.
